From Kinshasa, DRC, Chancelle has lived and worked in Kigali, Rwanda since 2006. She has a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from ABA (Académie des Beaux Arts de Kinshasa). She participated in numerous exhibitions in Kinshasa, Kigali and Dar es Salaam. She is currently an assistant teacher for French and art. Chancelle’s best work is in colorful abstraction. For International Women’s Day 2020, she was inspired to express herself in figurative styles representing “Black Beauty Women,” inviting women to embrace their dark skin and all the beauty surrounding their skin colour. She believes through her art, many will come to love their skin color more and express the feeling and joy of being a black woman with a more natural look.
